Profhilo

Injectable skin remodelling treatment to improve hydration, firmness and overall skin quality

Profhilo is an injectable treatment designed to improve skin quality, hydration and firmness rather than add volume or change facial shape. It contains stabilised hyaluronic acid that spreads beneath the skin to support collagen and elastin production, helping to improve texture, elasticity and overall radiance. When tailored carefully, it can refresh dull, crepey or lax skin while maintaining a natural-looking result. A consultation helps determine whether Profhilo is the right option for your skin concerns and treatment goals.

Next step
Consultation to assess suitability, treatment areas and whether Profhilo is the right treatment for your concerns

Profhilo is used to improve skin laxity, dehydration, crepey texture and early signs of ageing. It may be recommended where the skin appears dull, thinning or less elastic, and can help improve overall firmness, texture and glow. Common treatment areas include the face and neck, and it may also be used on areas such as the décolletage, hands, arms, knees or abdomen where skin quality and laxity are concerns.

Profhilo may be suitable for patients concerned by dehydration, crepey skin, reduced elasticity or mild skin laxity. It can be a good option if you would like a fresher, smoother and more hydrated appearance without the look of added volume. It is often chosen by patients who want subtle, natural-looking skin rejuvenation, but a consultation is important to assess whether treatment is appropriate for your skin, medical history and goals.

Your appointment begins with a consultation to assess your skin concerns, suitability and treatment plan. Profhilo is then injected at a series of precise points beneath the skin. The treatment is quick and targeted, and numbing cream may be used to improve comfort if needed. Most treatment plans involve an initial course of two sessions spaced around four weeks apart.

Most patients find Profhilo very tolerable. It is usually described as a quick pinprick or slight stinging sensation at the injection points, although comfort levels can vary depending on the area treated and your individual sensitivity. Numbing cream may be used if appropriate.

You can usually return to normal activities quite quickly after treatment. Small raised bumps at the injection points, along with mild redness, swelling, tenderness or itching, can occur immediately afterwards and typically settle within a few hours to 24 hours. Skin may feel more hydrated soon after treatment, while the fuller improvement in firmness and texture develops gradually over the following weeks.

Downtime is usually minimal. After treatment, you may be advised to avoid make-up for a short period and to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, alcohol and unnecessary touching of the treated area for the first 24 hours. Your practitioner will provide specific aftercare guidance based on the area treated and your skin.

Profhilo works gradually, so results are not usually immediate. Many patients notice an early improvement in hydration, with fuller results typically becoming more visible several weeks after the treatment course, often around 4 to 6 weeks after the second session. An initial course of two treatments spaced four weeks apart is commonly recommended, and results often last around 6 months depending on your skin condition, metabolism and lifestyle. Maintenance treatment may be recommended to help preserve results.
