Moxi is commonly used for concerns linked with early skin ageing and environmental damage. It may help improve uneven skin tone, mild pigmentation, sun damage, rough texture, dullness and fine lines, making it a strong option for patients seeking a gentle but effective skin-refreshing treatment.

Moxi may be suitable if you are starting to notice early changes in skin tone or texture and would like a treatment that feels more preventative than corrective. It is often described as suitable for a wide range of skin types and can appeal to patients who want subtle, progressive improvement rather than a dramatic change. Your consultation is important to confirm whether it is the right option for your skin, concerns and treatment plan.

Your appointment begins with a consultation and skin assessment. The skin is cleansed, protective eyewear is used, and a topical numbing cream may be applied beforehand, although some patients tolerate treatment without it. The laser is then passed over the treatment area in a controlled pattern. Moxi is generally a quick procedure, treatments are completed within an hour.

Most patients find Moxi very manageable. It is often described as a warm prickling, mild heat or sandpaper-like sensation as the laser passes over the skin. Cooling air is commonly used during treatment to help maintain comfort.

Immediately afterwards, the skin may appear pink to red, feel warm and slightly tight, rather like mild sunburn. Some patients notice mild swelling, particularly around the eyes. Over the next few days, tiny rough speckles known as MENDS can develop as the skin renews itself. These gradually resolve as the treated skin sheds naturally.

Downtime is usually light. Redness and warmth often settle within a few hours to 24 hours, while the rough, sandpaper-like feel can last around 3 to 5 days. Most patients are able to return to normal activities quickly, provided they follow the aftercare advice given by their practitioner.

Skin often looks brighter and smoother as it recovers, with improvement continuing over the following 3 to 4 weeks. Some patients notice a benefit after one session, but a course of treatments is commonly recommended for best results. Across the sources, this is usually described as multiple sessions spaced a few weeks apart, with many clinics recommending around 3 to 4 treatments depending on the skin concern being addressed.
